AMOS Retreat

We went up to Hinkle, GA for a few hours of fun with the "Adults Married or Single" (AMOS) from ChristChurch on Saturday. It was totally fun. We basically made it there for the goofing around part.

When we got there, everyone was down at the Lula Lake Land Trust. We got there and sat at the top of a 60 foot waterfall and relaxed a bit.

We saw some of our friends heading down to the bottom of the falls.

I went down to see what was going on. Some people had already frolic’d in the water.

Some were getting close to the falls.

And, of course, John Alexander was all too happy to get under the downpour again!

It was basically a good relaxing time with lots of friendly faces.

On the way back to the car, we saw the people who didn’t descend to the bottom of the falls.

I jumped on the back of the 4-wheeler and Nathan hopped on the dirtbike and we zoomed past everyone…

Nathan showed us his biking prowess.

I even did some hijinks.

No bones were broken.

After our last talk, we enjoyed smores…

A Trip to South Bend

A Quick visit to South Bend

This week I had a 4-day trip for work. Normally, I hate 4-day trips. But this one was punctuated by a delightful visit to our dear friends the Donahues. I had an overnight in South Bend, Indiana, where they live, and Elizabeth was able to fly up. On final approach to the airport, we got a nive view of the famous stadium.

I got to take a power-nap at the hotel before Raully and Elizabeth picked me up at about 11:00 am. We ate and had dessert at the South Bend Chocolate cafe.

Raully just completed his comps (Congratulations!!!) and had an appointment with his advisor, so Elizabeth and I went to the campus of Notre Dame. We visited the Basilica of the Sacred Heart — a beautiful and American-feeling cathedral on campus.
