Some Old Pics

December 31st, 2004

Here are a few older pictures from our vacation in Texas in November.

Yes, that’s my leg with all those things stuck in it. Some evil Texan plant got me.

At least it’s not my eye!

A Thorny Issue

December 18th, 2004

As promised, here are some pictures of the branch that decided it would teach me not to mess with it again … at least without eye protection! Here’s a part closer to the base of the branch … I didn’t take any thorns from this part!

Notice that there are not many thorns on this end of the branch. They were my souveneirs.

Eyes and Exacto Knives

December 12th, 2004

OK, so it’s been a while since I got a thorn in the eye. I finally got the last thorn out of my eyelid — it was buried deep and took a little prodding from an exacto knife, tweezers and fingernails, but finally I think I am thorn-free!

What’s Up

December 8th, 2004

OK, I know my blog is pretty stale. Don’t expect much change for a few weeks. I’m in training to fly the CRJ-200. My training involves 3 weeks of class from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm followed by about 4 hours study and homework. So I’m maxed out and tired.

Recent happenings: (1) We spent some great time with the Friderichs, Kovariks and friendslast weekend; (2) I photographed the branch that left parts of itself in my eye and face; (3) I got a 1994 Mazda MX-3 with 77,000 miles on it; (4) I got U2’s How to Dismantle and Atomic Bomb for Elizabeth and have been listening to it a lot. It’s great.

I can’t think of any other things but I’m sure it’s because my brain is telling me to go back to studying NOW!
