Duncan and Liam’s Baptism

August 29th, 2004

Today was a special day. The boys got all dressed up for their baptism!

It was a great service and an incredible privilige to be with Jen and Raully and Duncan and Liam for their baptism.

After church we had more family time.

Fruit and Family

August 28th, 2004

Saturday was a beautiful midwest summer morning, cool and breezy. We were all ready for a day of fun.

We hopped into the cars and drove up to an orchard in Michigan. Raully and David had the pleasure of being read to by Duncan on the way up!

We piled into one car to drive out to the acutal fruit…

No, we didn’t make Liam walk…! The fruit was amazing.

"Hey, wait up, guys!"

They’re just too fast for me…

About to enjoy the fruits of their labors, Jen and Raully pose for a stoic photo.

…Happy Times!!!

Duncan raced me to the car…

… isn’t he fast?

He won…

Liam got to ride on Mommy’s shoulders to the car…

…but oh man, what a weggie!

Now for some high-adventure apple-picking…

She doesn’t look like William Tell’s son.

On the way back to the place where you pay and eat Duncan and I got a nice ride looking out the back of the car.

Time to eat Waffles…

… complete with whipped cream and yummy strawberrys!

Time to burn off some energy!

As the sugar burned off, we got some "Dave and Ellie" time with Liam and Duncan.

A little more mischief and it’s time to head home!

That night, we had a nice dinner with the Dears.

After a full day of fun, we had a little low-key down-time…

with with some happy snugglers…

Happy Times in South Bend

August 27th, 2004

OK, this is a seriously pre-dated blog — I’m writing this on 10/11.

On this day we travelled to South Bend, Indiana, to see the Donahues. We had our first SBN meal at, of course, the South Bend Chocolate Company!

Yeah, it was good.
